FINCA Canada and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) are partnering to equip African youth with the tools to build sustainable livelihoods.
Opportunity Rising is a five-year initiative, backed by the Government of Canada (GAC), that aims to equip more than 50,000 youth in Tanzania and Uganda with the skills, tools, and support they need to build sustainable livelihoods.

In collaboration with AWS, FINCA has embraced AI as a transformative force on our path to eradicating global poverty. FINCA is developing an AI-powered innovative platform to enhance our research and drastically accelerate how we identify evidence-backed poverty solutions.
The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) program at the Gates Foundation and FINCA are partnering to test mechanisms to unlock capital for women in Africa – using Uganda as a test case – and piloting new financial products and services that create on-ramps for women to move up the “access to finance ladder”.
In partnership with the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, FINCA and a consortium of partners are working to address the lack of accessible ECD services in Uganda’s refugee-hosting communities using a two-generation approach of supporting both children and the adults who care for them within the same program.
