FINCA helps people living in poverty in the Middle East and South Asia access financial services to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
I used my first FINCA loan to buy a sewing machine. The sun of luck started shining on the windows of our house! I kept on asking customers to bring clothes for me and I worked hard and tirelessly to take a share in feeding my small brothers and sister as an elder member of the family.
Facts about Middle East & South AsiaFINCA has been in the Middle East and South Asia since 2004 and currently operates in three countries: Afghanistan, Jordan and Pakistan. We fight poverty in the region by ensuring low-income and unbanked women and men can access basic financial services including: • loans to build a business and grow livelihoods • savings accounts to keep money safe and build a cushion for hard times • money transfers to safely send money to family members living far away. FINCA also uses innovative banking technology like mobile banking in Pakistan to reach those in remote areas and make banking easier and more convenient. By offering financial services to Middle Easterners and South Asians living in poverty, we are providing a sustainable method for women and men to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.
