A heart-forward business leader, investor, and philanthropist, Payel brings 20+ years of fundraising, financial planning, investment management, risk mitigation, and fiduciary stewardship expertise.

Payel is the Chief Growth Advisor of FINCA International, an esteemed financial empowerment foundation and micro-finance banking pioneer of 40+ years over 40+ countries, and of its venture capital investing arm, FINCA Ventures that invests in visionary entrepreneurs whose businesses tackle head on the critical issues of Livelihood, Education, and Resilience and support smallholder farmers, families on the margins, and micro-businesses in sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2021, as CIO (Chief Investment Officer)of BurTech Acquisitions, Payel helped raise $300 Million and take the company public on NASDAQ (Ticker: BRKH) on track to land a successful exit by 12/2024 by acquiring Blaize Inc., a local EdgeAl company valued proforma at $894 Million.

The foundation for Payel’s career is in technology at Oracle as Product Manager before transitioning into wealth management by joining American Express as an Independent Financial Advisor where she rapidly grew a profitable advisory practice prior to moving into strategic trading and structured Alternative Investment deals for ultra-high net worth clients at Charles Schwab. Later, as VP of Investment Management, she advised Schwab’s largest 900 Advisors (RIAs) on how to wow their ultra-high net worth clients with integrative and behavioral finance.

In 2015, Payel was Investment Committee Chair and ClO (Chief Investment Officer) of Loring Ward, a Turnkey Asset Management firm in Silicon Valley where she managed $16 Billion in assets and its Mutual Fund Family, The SA Funds. She oversaw 600+ unique portfolios for 100,000+ households across North America. Payel led a large investment team of highly skilled and tenured experts and managed a $10 million per year P&L. Her team completed external audits of investment performance with impeccable reporting while growing assets under management, outperforming benchmarks, and improving expected returns and investor experiences via their proprietary take on asset allocation, security selection, risk management, and cost reduction based on behavioral finance.
