Chandresh (“Chan”) Harjivan has dedicated his career to improving public health, first within the pharmaceutical and health care industries in the public sector. He works with both donors and recipients of funding to align key requirements, set priorities, and define core capabilities—in this way transforming and growing organizations in the public health space. He focuses on accelerating the development of and access to health care innovations, as well as developing organizational strategies for health focused organizations, including full top-down and bottom-up transformations. Chan is known for his unique ability to balance speed of delivery with implementation of lasting change in the health care environment, his hands-on style and his ability to effectively work up and down the organizational chain—from the lab bench or warehouse, to senior executives.
His vision to make the world a safer and healthier place is being carried out by bringing his keen insight in both the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries to the Public Sector. Having dedicated his career to improving public health, first with the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and now in the public sector, Chan is viewed as a thought leader in the community; having spoken or chaired many conferences focused on public health, published many articles and been quoted often in the media. Working with both donors and recipients of funding, Chan has used his understanding of key stakeholders needs to align key requirements, set priorities, and define core capabilities—transforming and growing organizations in the public health space. Chan helped lead the stand-up and development of agency strategies and innovative development/policy models across the Federal Government including HHS, DHS, DoD, worked with Foundations/NGOs, Multilaterals and the Private Sector
Chan is a Managing Director and Partner at BCG, previously he was a Partner at PRTM and PwC leading the Global Public Health practice.
Chan was quoted in the Kennedy Information R&D Strategy and Product & Service Development Consulting Marketplace 2009–2012 report, as leading the public health team, where PwC was ranked as the #1 Global Firm for R&D Management Consulting to Public and Private Clients
Chan has chaired/presented at many conferences and has been quoted or had articles in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Financial Times, Homeland Security, Modern Healthcare and many others about organizational strategy in the public and private sector
