{"id":46799,"date":"2015-12-15T20:24:38","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T01:24:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging21.finca.org\/uncategorized-fr-ca\/le-nouveau-pere-noel-du-nicaragua"},"modified":"2023-09-27T10:18:39","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T14:18:39","slug":"le-nouveau-pere-noel-du-nicaragua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/finca.org\/fr-ca\/le-nouveau-pere-noel-du-nicaragua","title":{"rendered":"Le nouveau p\u00e8re No\u00ebl du Nicaragua"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In San Marcos, Nicaragua, a small stature, elderly woman is known in her community as \u201c<strong class=\"blue\">Santa Claus<\/strong>.\u201d Julia Ramirez runs a small convenience store out of her home, using the profits from her business to help feed and entertain children in poor communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Julia became a FINCA client 19 years ago, when she earned a living by selling cleaning products on the outskirts of Nicaragua\u2019s capital, Managua. As a single mother, it was difficult for Julia to balance work and taking care of her children. Eventually, she was able to purchase a house in San Marcos, and used some of her profits to improve the house as well as open her convenience store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Julia\u2019s own children are grown and she serves as a <strong class=\"orange\">\u201csecond mother<\/strong>\u201d to kids in San Marcos. With profits from her business, and continued FINCA loans, Julia serves hundreds of meals to children in various communities in San Marcos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked what FINCA means to her, Julia tearfully replies,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cA lot of motivation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00c0 San Marcos, au Nicaragua, une femme \u00e2g\u00e9e de petite taille est connue dans sa communaut\u00e9 sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0P\u00e8re No\u00ebl\u00a0\u00bb.
