From facial expressions, to food, to sports, to everyday household items and country flags, there is an emoji for almost any purpose. To celebrate this unique form of communication through symbols, we celebrate World Emoji Day <a href=\"https:\/\/worldemojiday.com\">each year on July 17<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In honor of World Emoji Day, FINCA has highlighted five social impact emojis that best represent our overall mission. It does so by investing in high-impact, early-stage social enterprises offering affordable, life-enhancing products and services for low-income populations. Because of this, we have chosen to use the red heart as an emoji that best represents our mission. Using both our microfinance and social enterprise programs, we are committed to finding innovative ways to sustain a great quality of life for the world\u2019s poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.com\/why-we-invested-mdaas-global\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MDaaS Global<\/a>, a FINCA Ventures partner in Nigeria, is just one of the ways FINCA has invested in people&#8217;s health. MDaaS Glocal provides affordable and accessible diagnostic services in clinically underserved communities. They help farmers not only their own standard of living, but increase food security for their wider communities as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.com\/why-we-invested-good-nature-agro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Good Nature Agro<\/a> in Zambia, <a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.com\/why-we-invested-east-africa-fruits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">East Africa Fruits<\/a> in Tanzania and <a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.com\/why-we-invested-ignitia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ignitia Tropical Weather Forecasting<\/a> in West Africa are just some of the partners FINCA Ventures is working with that aim to help small-scale farmers increase their crop yields and gain better market access to improve their standards of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"591\" data-src=\"https:\/\/finca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20.07.17_Pile-of-Poo-Emoji.jpg\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" alt=\"Pile-of-Poo-Emoji\" class=\"wp-image-25969 lazyload img-fluid\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"591\" src=\"https:\/\/finca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20.07.17_Pile-of-Poo-Emoji.jpg\" alt=\"Pile-of-Poo-Emoji\" class=\"wp-image-25969 img-fluid\" srcset=\"https:\/\/finca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20.07.17_Pile-of-Poo-Emoji.jpg 600w, https:\/\/finca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/20.07.17_Pile-of-Poo-Emoji-300x296.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The &#8216;Pile of Poo&#8217; Emoji<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Though often used in a variety of different ways, we at FINCA use the Pile of Poo emoji to represent our work in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With lack of sanitation as a leading cause of disease and health-related issues around the world, we consider it a vital issue to address. FINCA Ventures partner <a href=\"https:\/\/fincaventures.com\/why-we-invested-sanivation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sanivation<\/a> has transformed the issue of sanitation in Kenya. Because of you, we are able to continue our mission to serve the world\u2019s poor. Big or small, we use every contribution we receive to further our mission, helping millions of people all over the world gain greater access to financial services and life-enhancing products to improve their quality of life.
