Igniting a revolution in human potential

As we celebrate FINCA’s 40th Anniversary, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the tens of millions of lives we’ve changed. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on how—despite incredible success—we can do more.

I have never been more excited about this moment in history. We have not yet realized the full potential for microfinance because the systems and tools of the past few decades were not designed to sustainably scale our business model. But things are different now. In just the past few years, global technology and infrastructure have caught up to the abiding promise we have made to the world’s most disadvantaged people.

It’s a promise we intend to keep.

We have the opportunity—and the moral obligation—to ensure that the progress we make in the coming years surpasses what we’ve achieved in the past 40.

This is, indeed, an exciting time. I invite you to join us as we lead a peaceful, prosperous revolution in human potential in the years ahead.

“Expanding funding for women entrepreneurs is essential to building more inclusive and resilient economies. Achieving this at scale requires sustained, collective effort across markets and institutions, and the WE Finance Code provides a critical platform for that collaboration to happen.”
