One Smile at a Time<\/span><\/p>\n

For the last 18 months, Kenny\u00a0Nyimbiri has served as a FINCA\u00a0Zambia<\/a> Loan Officer at the\u00a0Northmead Branch in bustling Lusaka. While his day is often hectic\u00a0with traveling to meet with FINCA\u00a0clients and attending credit meetings,\u00a0his goal each and every day is\u00a0simple. As he says:<\/p>\n

\u201cwhat I\u2019m meant\u00a0for\u2026 (is) putting a smile on our\u00a0clients.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kenny makes it easy\u00a0and simple for our clients\u00a0to access our financial\u00a0services through a simple\u00a0fingerprint, using\u00a0biometric scans.
\nThose smiles often come when\u00a0Kenny introduces our clients to an\u00a0easier way to access our financial\u00a0services. In a country where many\u00a0people lack national ID cards,\u00a0Kenny is teaching clients to use\u00a0biometric scanners so that FINCA\u00a0can easily identify them. Clients\u00a0are registered at a FINCA branch\u00a0by providing a digital scan of their\u00a0fingerprint. Then, when they make transactions at a branch or an\u00a0agent outlet, they sign in to their\u00a0accounts by scanning their fingerprint. This simple but high-tech\u00a0solution makes financial services\u00a0easily accessible to everyone\u2014even\u00a0clients who cannot read.\u00a0In the future, FINCA Zambia will\u00a0continue to enroll their clients in\u00a0the biometric system to scale up\u00a0their outreach and provide financial services to even the most marginalized\u00a0populations.<\/p>\n

Every time clients walk out of the\u00a0Northmead branch knowing their\u00a0funds are safe and secure\u2014and that\u00a0security literally is in their hands\u2014Kenny knows he\u2019s earned their trust.\u00a0Kenny joined the FINCA team\u00a0because he wanted to help people,\u00a0not just by providing affordable\u00a0loans, but by spreading knowledge\u00a0about the importance of savings\u00a0as a way to move ahead in life.<\/p>\n
