In Nsambya, a suburb of Uganda\u2019s capital city, 29-year-old Aminah Nanyombi happily balances working at her milk shop and taking care of her four children and husband. Years ago, however, Aminah struggled to provide basic needs for her family.<\/p>\n
At that time, she ran a small vegetable stall of tomatoes, onions, eggplants and banana leaves near her home. But the profits were small. She could only afford her family infrequent meals. And Aminah struggled to send her children to school. She knew they needed a proper education, but with no money to pay for it, Aminah felt helpless.<\/p>\n
A friend of Aminah\u2019s understood her plight and encouraged her to join a FINCA Village Bank. After joining the Tumwebaze Women\u2019s Group, Aminah received her first loan of $58. She used this loan to start a milk selling business at one of the big markets in town.<\/p>\n
Slowly but surely, the loans from FINCA paid off. Today, her children attend a school regularly and her family eats healthily. Aminah also was able to purchase two plots of land and build a house for her family. She now plans to save money to purchase a car to buy milk directly from nearby farms at a lower cost.<\/p>\n
Aminah knows whatever business changes she will make in the future, FINCA will be there to help.<\/p>\n
