Why Financial Inclusion Matters
Imagine having no access to financial services: no checking account, no credit card, no health, insurance or no safe place for your savings. It is hard to imagine, isn’t it? Well, this is the day-to-day reality for 2 billion people worldwide.
When poor people have access to financial services, they can earn more, build their assets and cushion themselves against external shocks. Poor households use these services to move from everyday survival to planning for the future: they invest in better nutrition, housing, health and education.
