Comic Relief

Comic Relief and Jersey Overseas Development Aid are supporting the upgrade of FINCA Zambia’s agent banking network, reaching underserved population segments through fintech innovations. The joint effort expands the agent network while evolving its business model to better meet the needs of customers through financial literacy. The investment supports capacity building, identification and training of qualified agents, and equipping them with the resources necessary to dispense information on money management, consumer protection and the financial products best suited to the client’s needs.

Through financial support, staff secondment and visionary leadership, Credit Suisse is helping FINCA International empower employees worldwide to deliver on FINCA’s mission every day. Additionally, our partnership with Credit Suisse enables FINCA to develop customer-centric products that better meet client needs, including an undertaking to explore new agricultural services. FIBR

FIBR is partnering with FINCA International’s BrightLife program to leverage data analytics to build stronger linkages between BrightLife’s energy customers and FINCA Uganda’s financial services. This unique collaboration between an energy provider and a microfinance institution aims to chart a path to comprehensive financial inclusion for unbanked and under-banked Ugandans. Mastercard Foundation and FINCA Canada are working to scale-up financial inclusion in Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia. Through this partnership, underserved communities across sub-Saharan Africa will benefit from new products and delivery channels designed to meet their needs. This support is enabling staff training and the inclusion of social performance metrics into every aspect of FINCA’s operations, while also improving our ability to serve clients with a complete range of financial services. Through the Whole Planet Foundation’s provision of interest-free loan capital, FINCA has been able to more cost-effectively expand outreach in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Several thousand borrowers in Likasi and Kolwezi now have access to microloans thanks to this partnership.
