The Solar Lamp Library Empowering Students in Rural Africa

In 2018, FINCA International’s BrightLife program introduced the Solar Lamp Library project in Uganda. Through the project, students from participating schools in off-grid areas of rural Uganda can borrow the lamps to take home to use to study and do other chores at night. Last year, the project installed 700 solar lanterns in seven schools, impacting more than 2,000 students and their families. As it continues to expand, BrightLife expects the solar lamp library to empower students across Uganda to achieve their learning and life goals. This video captures the project and its impact to date:
